Last night, bmibaby won the Innovation in Travel and Leisure award in the 2012 Econsultancy Awards.
This is the result of our ongoing #myeurope Instagram campaign, which has seen 26,000+ pieces of user generated content being uploaded since launch. This is a phenomenal response rate for an online campaign, especially for one where users actively have to participate by creating, uploading and tagging an image.
Each month, we focus on a different bmibaby destination. The Spanish month of the campaign, which will probably hit 5,000 entries over the next few days, is about to draw to a close. Â Be sure to check out some of the images here!
The Econsultancy judges said that this campaign, “started by seeding the campaign among Instagram’s super users in Italy, Germany and Holland, who helped to raise awareness. This has resulted in more than 10,000 pictures being submitted to its destination guides. The offline aspects of the campaign were brilliant, with meetups and a photography exhibition that generated coverage in more than 100 publications.”
