bmibaby recently teamed up with five travel experts to produce the definitive travel guide for summer 2011, called Travel Gems.

Launched today, the innovative 12 page guide has been compiled using 70 tweets from the general public on six exciting destinations, received via a specific bmibaby twitter feed.

Every month we put one of the bmibaby Travel Experts under the microscope and asking them to tell us all about their lives as a top travel blogger, what they enjoy most about their job and for some helpful travelling hints and tips.

The second travel expert to take to the hot seat is Alan Sampson. Alan is well known online as Travel Titbits blogging at http://traveltitbits.co.uk . You can also keep up to date with Alan’s adventures on the Travel Titbits Twitter page.

On Thursday 21 April, we enlisted the help of one of our Travel Experts to bring the sites of Belfast to the online world. Alan Sampson and Bonnie Wintle, founders of top travel blog Travel Titbits, took on the bmibaby challenge of Belfast Live! The intrepid explorers travelled to Northern Ireland to spend a day as a tourist, visiting places suggested by the public via the bmibaby Facebook and Twitter pages.

We are also very excited to announce that the bmibaby Grand Tour of Belfast, based on the Belfast Live! suggestions, is now live, so be sure to take part next time you are in Belfast and you too can follow Alan and Bonnie’s footsteps around Belfast.
